Mixtape Debate, Promotion or Prosecution

Popular Atlanta DJs, DJ Drama and DJ Cannon were arrested in southwest Atlanta for basically bootlegging their own music. There is a lot of talk going around that it was wrong that they were arrested because of the fact that this has been a method for getting a lot of new artists discovered. So the question is, Should DJ Drama and DJ Cannon be arrested for doing what so many others DJs have done in the past and sell their own material?

    I don’t think they should have been arrested. There are other places that blatantly distribute illegal copies of cds. For instance West End Mall, people on MARTA’s public transit trains, and people on the corners downtown.

    What sense does it make to arrest them if there producing their own cd’s and making a profit on the internet.
